Copic Coloring – Congrats on Your New Sidekick

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I first have to thank you all for the awesome support of my PlanThis planner inserts! You all have been so enthusiastic and I love hearing about how you’re setting up your planners! Please share pictures with me on Instagram with the hashtag #planthis. That way we all can see your planners! :)
Anyhow, today I have a card for you that I created for my friend Jana who just adopted a new cat. When Christy from Tiddly Inks sent me her new Wryn Scootin’ By digital stamps, I knew the girl on the the scooter with a cat would be perfect! (There’s also a dog in the digital kit in case you want a dog instead of a cat). Thanks, Christy, for sending the images along for me to play with! She mentioned that the cat on the scooter reminder her of my Mannie. :)
So first I prepped my card design in Adobe Photoshop. I created a custom greeting for the card that reads, “Congrats on your new sidekick!” I thought that sentiment would fit perfectly with the image. If you’d like to purchase the digital sentiment for your personal use, you can below…
After the card design was as I wanted it, I printed it on my Epson XP-820 printer and started coloring with Copic markers. I’ve purchased a new printer since the last time I printed digital images for coloring. Thankfully, this printer does just as well as my old Epson. No smearing of the ink when coloring with Copics. BTW, I printed on 80 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock and the printer handled it without any problems. I didn’t even have to put it in the manual feed tray! :)
Anyhow, I have two videos for you. The first is the actual coloring of the card. The second shows how I set up the digital files for printing. Enjoy!
