EASY DIY Watercolor Card – Mother’s Day – Minimal Supplies Needed!

Hello, all! It’s been a while since I shared a card using only minimal supplies, so I thought today I would create one. This card requires very little supply-wise. In fact, you likely have most of it in your stash already!

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started out by designing the floral heart and banner on my computer. You can download the free PDF here.

To transfer the design to my watercolor paper, I scribbled on the back of the template printout with a pencil, being sure to coat the entire area with the graphite. Then I turned the template over, placed it on top of the watercolor paper, taped it in place, and then traced the design. The pressure from the tracing transfers graphite to the watercolor paper, leaving the design.

Then it was just a matter of painting the design and adding the greeting to the banner. I used an inexpensive watercolor set from Prang for the painting, and a white Gelly Roll pen for the greeting.

I hope you enjoy today’s card inspiration. For more card like this using minimal supplies, check out my Simply Watercolor online class!
