Easy Watercolor Techniques #3: How to get a Variegated Wash

Happy Friday, all! I’m back with my third Easy Watercolor Technique. Variegated washes are fun to paint, especially if you love the unpredictability–it never dries how you expect!

I once again used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors to paint the background on this card. I used shades of green since I planned to use the Lucky to You Know die from Simon Says Stamp. I thought it would make a fun St. Patrick’s Day card. :)

The watercolor paper from Arches cut like a dream when I ran it and the die through my Big Shot die cutting machine. Then I adhered the positive of the die cut (the words) to the from of the card front. I used foam tape to adhere the negative of the die cut (the outside area) to another card front.

I hope you enjoy today’s video! I plan to share more easy watercolor techniques in the near future.
