Emboss Resist & Multilayered Watercoloring with Distress Inks

Happy Saturday, all! This feels strange to me because I don’t usually post on Saturdays. Lol! But today I’m taking part in a blog hop to celebrate Stamptember! Stamptember is a month-long stamp celebration hosted by Simon Says Stamp. There is a TON of awesome giveaway and product reveals happening throughout September, so be sure to visit the Simon Blog for details.
I had the opportunity to design some stamps and dies for the new Stamptember release and I’m excited to be using a couple of them today (see the entire release HERE)! I used the Abstract Triangles background stamp and the Sorry Circle die.
The Abstract Triangle stamp design might look familiar. I created it by hand on a card last June. I loved the design so much that I knew it had to be a background stamp, too! So for today’s card I stamped the background stamp in VersaMark Ink, applied some white heat embossing powder, melted it, and then used it as a resist for watercoloring over the top.
I used Distress Inks for all of the watercolor. Be sure to watch the video below to see how it was done. I just love this combination of colors!
To finish off the card, I diecut a circle window using Simon’s Nested Circle dies, adhered vellum, and then cut and embossed the Sorry Circle die. This is a simple card, but could be adapted to many other color combinations and circle sentiments.
