Embossed Watercolor Resist & Masking + GIVEAWAY!

Hi all! Today I’m playing with the newly revealed October 2015 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. When I was designing the I See You stamp set for the kit I was thinking about doing the exact thing with the faceted heart stamp that I do on today’s card.
First, I stamped the heart image in Galaxy Gold pigment ink (included in the kit) on watercolor paper. Then I applied clear embossing powder and heat set it. This created a heat embossed area that would resist watercolor. I painted over the top with Peerless Watercolors.
After assembling most of the card, I decided I wanted the border stamp from the stamp set, too. So I stamped the left corner of the heart on masking paper, trimmed it out, and stuck it to the heart. Then I stamped the border stamp. I think the border stamp really “grounds” the design.
NOTE: You can purchase the entire October 2015 Card Kit and receive lots of fun products to create with, including the stamp set, gold pigment ink, etc. There is also the option of purchasing the I See You stamp set separately.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!
