Envelope Addressing – Brush Lettering & Calligraphy with Gouache

Since it’s Tuesday, I have another Letter Tuesday video for you all. This week I decided to address another envelope.

I used a black envelope from Simon. To write on the dark surface, I used white gouache that I diluted a little bit with water to make it a better consistency to write with. A size 00 round brush was perfect for the small lettering.

I also added a scalloped border on the left edge since the entire design and postage stamps were off to the right. The scalloped edge evened it out. I also added some dots beneath the address so it wasn’t “top heavy.”
