Father’s Day Card (Stamped Plaid) – Make a Card Monday #254

Wow! I can’t believe we’re over a week into the month of June! Where did May go? :) This Sunday is Father’s Day so I thought it would be the perfect time to create another Father’s Day card.
For this one layer card, I used a bit of masking and stamped a custom plaid background pattern. I love creating plaid like this. It’s so fun! And just by using more masculine colors of ink (Dark Chocolate, Sunshine, Olive, and Soft Navy), you can give it a masculine look.
The plaid background makes me thing of camping, which is definitely for dads, right? :)
I used Simon’s Father’s Day stamp set for the main greeting, and Clearly Besotted’s Basic Stripes for the plaid stamping. Super simple and easy.
NOTE: Make sure to watch the beginning of the video for a tip on cutting a top folding portrait card in a smaller paper trimmer. I recently switched to a smaller trimmer and had to figure this out since I love to make top-folding cards and the trimmer only accommodates 8.5″ on the cut edge. :)
