Faux Dip Dye with Watercolor + New Dies from Simon
Happy Friday, all! Today I’m revisiting a watercolor technique that I shared a year ago–faux dip dye. I’m also using two new dies from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release (see EVERYTHING here). I used the new I Adore You die and Triangle Element die. These two dies together are awesome!

I started out with faux dip dye watercolor piece, and used Gansai Tambi watercolors. I tore the bottom edge of some Arches cold press watercolor paper and then started painting (see the video for the exact technique).
To build up the die cut, I ran the Triangle Element die through my die cutting machine four times and then adhered the die cuts together using Connect Glue. For the greeting, I used gold foil cardstock to cut out the I Adore You die, and adhered it to a piece of vellum. This helps keep the dainty words together. I cut the vellum with a slight margin around the words and then adhered the entire piece to the card.
