Hand Lettering in a Heart Shape with Finetec Pearl Water Colors

Happy Valentine’s Day! It seemed very fitting to letter a Valentine’s Day card for today’s Letter Tuesday video. I used the Finetec Pearl Water Color palette (the 12 pan version) for the lettering because they’re just beautiful painted over dark surfaces.

I first cut out a heart shape and then penciled on my design. The Finetec paints are opaque so I wasn’t worried about the pencil lines showing through.

After I completed the words, I painted around the outside of the heart shape in order to define it. I also added a dashed line with a white pen.
