Holiday Card Series 2014 – Day 20

Hi all! Today I really fun card for you. And since it’s Day 20 of the Holiday Card Series, it’s a coloring card.
Aren’t those little carolers adorable! They’re from Mama Elephant’s Alpine Caroler’s stamp set (available at Simon, or from Mama Elephant directly).
To create the scene, I first stamped them in StazOn Jet Black ink. Then I stamped them again on Inkadinkado Stamping Mask paper, cut them out and applied the masks over the people. For the snow bank, I created a sloping mask out of Post-It paper (discontinued — see note below). Then I added the blue background using Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks and a Mini Round Ink Blending Tool.
The people were colored with Prismacolor Colored Pencils, and then the greeting and music notes were stamped in VersaMark ink and white heat embossed.
Masking Paper
If you are a masking fan like I am, you have greatly felt the loss of Eclipse Masking Paper (it’s been out of stock EVERYWHERE for a long, long time). I love the Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper, but sometimes you need a larger piece of masking paper, like for today’s card. In the past I’ve always used Eclipse Masking Paper, or more recently I’ve used Post-It paper. That is, until the Post-It paper was discontinued. :( Anyhow, I have great news! Simon Says Stamp is now selling their own masking paper! This is one that I’ve tested and it works just as well as the other masking papers and it’s a better price, too. :)
You can pick up the Simon Says Stamp Masking Paper HERE.
Anyhow, onto today’s card. I hope you enjoy!
