Holiday Card Series 2015 – Day 21

Hello all!

First, I have to apologize for the delay in sharing this video. I’m sure many of you can relate to being extremely busy around the holidays. :)

Anyhow, for Day 21 of the Holiday Card Series I have created another plaid pattern using watercolors. (See my first plaid pattern HERE). This time I used very bright and cheerful colors to create a plaid pattern over masked snowflakes.

Holiday Card Series 2015 - Day 21

I used a 2mm Molotow masking pen to draw the snowflakes on the watercolor paper before painting the stripes for the plaid pattern. I normally do not use Molotow on top of Strathmore watercolor paper because I haven’t had much success with it in the past (it’s hard to remove unless you use an adhesive eraser or something else that can really grab onto the rubbery masking fluid), but it turned out alright in this case.

The sequins I added to the plaid pattern are 5mm and 8mm Crystal sequins from Darice. These are my absolutely favorite sequins because they pick up the color of whatever is underneath them.

I did not include a greeting on this card, so I’ll be sure to stamp something on the inside before I give the card away.
