Holiday Card Series 2017 – Day 14 – Watercolor Markers & Unmounted Stamps

Hello, all! Today is Day 14 of the Holiday Card Series. For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.

For today’s cards, I’m playing with new stamps from Purple Onion Designs. Michele from Purple Onion Designs reached out to me not long ago and wondered if I’d like to try some of their stamps. They offer lots of cute illustrated images (perfect for coloring) so I was intrigued! She sent along some of their most recent release and I absolutely love them!
Purple Onion Designs stamps come unmounted. The easiest way to use them is to temporarily adhere them to a block for stamping. However, if you want a more permanent solution, you can use Tsukineko Tack ‘N Peel to create a “sticky surface.” Then the stamps will stick to it. I decided to use the entire sheet of Tack ‘N Peel on my Fiskars Compact Stamp Press since some of the unmounted stamps were quite large. This worked great!
For the exact images I used on today’s card, check out the supply list below. :)
I watercolored both cards using Arteza Watercolor Markers. These markers are very similar to Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, even down to the real brush bristles. They are different colors, though. I think they are a great alternative to the Zig markers. And since some of my Zig markers are starting to dry out (I’ve had them for a few years), and I don’t want to replace just individual markers, I think I might start using this Arteza set as well.
I hope you love today’s cards! You can check out the entire Purple Onion Designs release HERE. They are also having a 25% off all stamps sale now through December 8, 2017!
