Holiday Card Series 2017 – Day 20 – Masking Fluid Trees

Happy Friday! Today marks Day 20 of the Holiday Card Series for 2017. For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
Today’s card is actually really simple. First, I painted some trees using masking fluid on watercolor paper. After letting that dry completely, I used the smooshing technique to add watercolor over the top. I picked up some Mijello Mission Gold watercolor with a brush, transferred it to a piece of clear acetate, sprayed with a bit of water to help the color move more freely, and then smooshed it onto the watercolor paper.
After letting the watercolor dry, I gently removed the masking fluid. I then stamped and gold embossed a greeting from Avery Elle’s Snowflakes stamp set.
I hope you enjoy today’s card and video! :)
