Holiday Card Series 2017 – Day 24 – Caught in a Blizzard

Hello, all! Today is Day 24 of the Holiday Card Series! Can you believe the series is almost over? That also means that Christmas is very very soon! For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
The idea for today’s card started with the Bearing Gifts stamp set from Reverse Confetti. Isn’t the bear so cute?! I stamped the scene using masking paper and Versafine ink on watercolor paper.
To color the scene, I used Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. Then I added a few metallic pearlescent accents using the Starry Colors palette from Kuretake.
The scene definitely needed some falling snow–which quickly turned into a blizzard! I splattered on some white gouache and it soon looked very, very snowy! I also decided to paint some of the gouache onto the branches of the trees and on top of the presents and car.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 25 of the Holiday Card Series. :)
