Holiday Card Series 2017 – Day 5 – Easy, Colorful Backgrounds

Happy Monday, all! First off, so sorry for not posting Day 5 last Friday. As you may know, I’ve been struggling with a sinus infection and ear infection. I wasn’t able to get Day 5 ready in time so I decided to share it today. Day 6 will go up tomorrow, and then we’ll be back on track. :)

Anyhow, today is Day 5 of the Holiday Card Series for 2017. For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.

Have you all seen Concord & 9th’s Turnabout stamps? They have a quite a few out now and they’re so fun to play with! I’d never used one of them until today’s card. The Christmas Cheer Turnabout stamp looked perfect for an easy holiday card.

Check out the video above for instructions on how to use the Turnabout stamp. It’s super easy! I stamped it on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and did two variations. The first was with the images stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I stamped color onto the images using four inks from Simon: Lipstick Red, Green Leaf, Lake Shores, and Dark Chocolate. For the second version, I used those same Simon colors to stamp all the images. Easy peasy! :)

To finish off the card, I used Concord & 9th’s Ribbon Banner die. This die coordinates perfectly with the words included in the Christmas Cheer Turnabout stamp set. The words are angled just perfectly to fit on the banner. I stamped the words for each card using Lipstick Red ink.
