Holiday Card Series 2018 – Day 19 – Soft Watercoloring with Markers
For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until November 30. For today’s Day 20 card, I did very soft watercoloring with markers and the Mod Trees Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.

Before starting to paint, I stamped and white heat embossed the Mod Trees background stamp on Bristol paper.To get super soft colors, I scribbled the Arteza watercolor markers on a slick surface and then picked up the color with a watercolor brush. As I painted the background, the embossed trees resisted the watercolor.
To finish off the card, I used the Happy Christmas die set from Simon to cut out a greeting. I coated the main words with silver heat embossing powder and then adhered them to the large, shadow die cut. The full greeting was adhered to the card use very small foam squares that I cut from some Darice thin foam strips.
