Calligraphy Baby Card + Envelope

Good morning, all!

Most of the time I create cards and stash them away for later when I need them, but occasionally I make a card for a specific purpose and a specific reason. Yesterday, I met up with a bunch of my buddies from SU for a baby shower for one of the product design girls. Like me, she doesn’t work there anymore, but we all stayed in touch and see one another every once in a while.

Anyhow, Patti’s having a baby, so I wanted to make a special card for her and the baby. :)

I used an old background stamp from Stampin’ Up!, Dotted. It’s retired so you can’t buy it anymore, but if you’re looking for a dot background stamp, between Inkadinkado and Hero Arts there are a few out there to pick from. Here’s the Hero Arts one, and then the Inkadinkado dot stamp.

And the letter stamps are the Educational Insights lowercase alphabet (there an uppercase alphabet set, too). I love these stamps. While I was cleaning my craft room yesterday, I unearthed them and wanted to use them again. That’s the fun part of cleaning up. :)

The ink I used is a calligraphy ink that was recommended to me a professional calligrapher I took a class from last autumn. It’s McCaffery’s Penman’s Ink in Ivory. I adore this stuff. It’s awesome. Of course, I haven’t tried out too many different white inks, but I’m very happy with this one.

Anyhow, enjoy!
