Hi all!

Lately I’ve been mailing out quite a few cards, so I’ve been super aware of how thick cards can get. Unfortunately, as many of you know, thicker cards require more postage. So I decided to make a card that was only one layer.

Cards like this can be a bit challenging because sometimes it’s hard to break out of the “add a layer of this” or “add a layer of that” mentality. When I was coming up with an idea for this card, it took me a few minutes to really stop thinking in layers and multiple papers, etc.

An easy way to get yourself in the “one-layer” mindset is to challenge yourself to only use stamps. I used two stamp sets by Sassafras (Collaged Trim and Jungle Pals) and one from Hero Arts (Big All Time Greetings), plus my usual Colorbox Chalk Ink in Chesnut Roan.

So here’s a little challenge for you all. And this challenge is going to run like the old Color Inspiration Challenges. Basically, you create a one-layer card. Post it on your blog or in an online gallery and leave a link to it below (make sure to link to the blog post where the card is, NOT to the main page of your blog). I’ll start out the linkage with another one layer card I made a while ago. At the end of the week (Sunday at 5:00 pm), link/image submissions will end. Then I’ll go through all the entries and pick my top ten. :)

NOTE: I reserve the right to delete links posted incorrectly. And if any of you catch an incorrect link, please let me know. :)

Anyhow, enjoy!
