You all know I love me some pens. Seriously, I have a ridiculous obsession with pens, markers, and pencils. I think it goes hand in hand (pun not intended) with my love of handwriting and sketching. My style of writing changes with the pen or pencil I’m using. Some call for cursive or loopy writing, while other are strictly ALL CAPS.
The Elusive Pencil
I still remember in fourth grade I sat next to girl in class who had the most awesome mechanical pencil. She would let me borrow it sometimes. It was red with sparkles, and it twisted the lead to the tip instead of the usual clicking. It was also SUPER thick lead… like 1.5 mm or something crazy like that (most pencils are either 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm). It had the smoothest feeling and would just glide across the paper in a thick line. Like butter. It was amazing. I loved to borrow it for long writing assignments.
I’ve looked for a pencil like that ever since.
I know you’re shaking your head wondering how I could be so crazy. Seriously, I’ve had a lifelong affair with writing instruments.
So, every once in a while I order some pencils from JetPens.com to see if any of the pencils they offer are close to that holy grail pencil from fourth grade. I haven’t found the perfect replica yet, but this one is darn close when it comes to the smooth gliding feeling…
I don’t know if it comes with some special lead or something, but the lead is particularly smooth compared to other mechanical pencil leads I’ve used in the past.
The Multifunctional “Pen”
I love pens with multiple colors in them. Sure, the body of the pen is a bit bulky. You might sacrifice dainty sleekness, but you gain functionality. Who wouldn’t want more than one color of pen? Hello? I ordered a JetStream pen like that and when it arrived it had a little surprise (or rather I just didn’t read the item description completely). It’s actually 4 ink colors + a pencil! Best of both worlds!
I’ve always loved the Uni-ball Jetstream pens, so to have multiple colors plus a pencil? I’m in heaven! This is my current in-purse pen…
Anyhow, enough of my rambling. I have a giveaway for you guys!
