Painterly Days Watercolor Coloring Book (#TheDailyMarker30Day Challenge)
Hi all! Today I am taking part in a blog hop to kick off my friend Kathy Racoosin’s The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. This is a challenge that encourages everyone to do a bit of coloring each day. You don’t have to participate every single day, but it’s fun to break out those coloring books or stamps and color just a little bit. :)
For my coloring, I chose to watercolor a page from Painterly Days: The Flower Watercoloring Book by Kristy Rice. This is an awesome coloring book specifically for watercoloring! I’ve reviewed a watercolor book in the past, but this one might be my favorite because of the imagery and the type of paper used in the book.
There are two other versions of the watercoloring book, too! The author Kristy Rice sent me a copy of Painterly Days: The Pattern Watercoloring Book (Thanks, Kristy!), and then there’s Painterly Days: The Woodland Watercoloring Book as well. :)
I watercolored the flowers using three colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: Violet, Ochre, and Olive Green. Then I used Neutral Tint Peerless Watercolor for the background.
The main greeting of the card was die-cut using the Congratulations die from Simon Says Stamp. I diecut it twice, adhering the white version first, and then the brown diecut on top. This created a “shadow” effect and makes the words more legible on top of the busy watercolor pattern.
