Painting with White Gouache

Happy Tuesday, all! I’ve had an idea floating around in my head for a while and wanted to try it out today. I thought it would be cool to try painting a scene with mostly all white gouache. For today’s card I used the new Botanic Thanks stamp set from Mama Elephant. The florals in this are perfect for the technique I had in mind.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
I stamped the large image from the Botanic Thanks stamp set in VersaMark ink on Black Onyx card stock from Gina K. I applied Alabaster embossing powder from Brutus Monroe, and then heat set it.
Painting with white gouache worked out well! I think I want to practice this technique even more for better results, too! To mix it up and add a bit of color, I pressed a Distress Ink Forest Moss ink pad on the palette next to the gouache and mixed it. This made the gouache a pale green shade that I used on the leaves.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy today’s card and video! :)
