Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Stamps & Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Hello all! I’m here on a Tuesday for a new card video, but only because I created this card late last night and didn’t have a chance to upload it. I hope it’s worth the wait! :)
A few months back, I created a similar card to this one using the Bird Crazy stamp set from Tim Holtz. I just loved this little bird, but it looked so worried and confused that I had to had some additional elements to explain why it was so sad. So I added a party hat and a deflated balloon. After seeing that card, Tim asked me if I would illustrate some more accessories for the birds and he’d make it into a stamp set. Of course! Tim had a TON of ideas for the birds and it was so fun to see the Crazy Things stamp set come to life.
Long story short, I’ve been wanting to recreate that original card for a while now. So here we go!
This time I added the element of the gift box, and I think it finishes off the card really well. Sets the scene. :)
I watercolored the entire scene using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers on Strathmore watercolor paper. I love how vibrant the markers are. I’ve been doing a lot of traditional watercoloring lately so when the colors didn’t lighten when drying, it surprised me! The colors from these markers stay true even after drying.
The new dies that match the Bird Crazy stamp set were fun to use, too. And shhh! Tim says dies for the Crazy Things stamp set will be coming in October. Yay!
