Happy Tuesday, all! I’ve been watching lots of watercolor videos at Instagram recently, and I’m fascinated by watercolor leaves and flowers. The other day I practiced painting leaves and loved how it turn out so much that I decided to turn it into a card.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
I loved how the different tones of yellow, green, and blue mixed on my brush! I practiced loading up one color on my brush and then dipping the tip of the brush into another color, and then painting leaves. You can see examples of this in the video above. It’s such a fun technique! And not one that I can take credit for. I’ve seen multiple people on Instagram use particular technique over and over.
To make my watercolor practice sheet into a card, I created a case base out of In the Navy cardstock from Gina K Designs, and diecut a greeting using Gold Foil Cardstock from Altenew and one of the dies in Concord & 9th’s Fabulous Phrases die set.
I hope you enjoy today’s video! Thanks for stopping by!
Want to go on a cruise with me?
