You Are Loved – Tombow Marker Smooshing Watercolor

Hi all! Today I’m revisiting one of my favorite watercolor techniques, which is a variation on ink smooshing. I used Tombow markers today, but you could really use any water-based marker you have on hand.
I scribbled the markers onto acetate (or clear plastic), spritzed it with a bit of water, and then turned the acetate over and “smooshed” it onto some watercolor paper. I did a few layers of this, drying with my heat tool between layers. It created the most awesome watercolor textured background!
To create a nice, white card front, I used Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut out rows of arrows using the new Pointers dies from Paper Smooches. I then popped up the panel using foam tape.
To finish off the card, I used Paper Smooches’ You Are Loved die to cut a greeting out of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I also cut out some miniature heart die cuts using the Tiny Hearts die set. After adhering the die cuts to the card, I coated them with a thin coat of Ranger Glossy Accents.
Thanks for visiting my blog today! :)
